1 July 22
Good afternoon family and friends,
Further to our email yesterday, the situation changed today with a positive test result for a resident in our Nobby’s suburb. All residents in Jacaranda that had a PCR yesterday apart from the positive resident have tested negative.
Together with the consistently high case numbers in the Hunter region, we have made the difficult decision to cease general visitation immediately for the whole facility until further notice.
The situation is fluid and changing constantly. We are waiting for news from the Public Health Unit as to how we can proceed moving forward.
The residents who are covid positive remain isolated in their rooms and other residents in Jacaranda and Nobbys have been given to choose to isolate in their rooms or move freely about their area.
The residents in Bluegum, Honeysuckle, The Hill and Waratah can move freely about in their area and are able to access coffee in each of their main areas.
All staff in Jacaranda and Nobbys are in full PPE and are being supplied with food and refreshments to ensure they are supported with their health during their shift. Staff continue to be segregated where possible although we continue to experience staffing shortages due to exposures. The risk is being managed as best as we can.
Reception have contacted all the families that were booked in for weekend visits or Day Excursions to cancel either their visit or outing.
Stay safe and well.
Yours sincerely,
Tracy Walker
