Update #86
Dear Residents and Family members,
We are on the edge of our seats waiting for the last 3 PCR results to be returned this afternoon, as most came in first thing this morning. Of all those returned there was good news as there are no new cases amongst staff or residents.
Pending the remaining results I have requested the Public Health Unit review our Isolation arrangements in each wing to ensure that any restrictions in place can be adjusted according to the risk, rather than the whole site be managed as one. Waratah wing will definitely continue with full PPE and confinement to the suburb, regardless of the outstanding results as we continue to manage active cases in that area.
All residents who are positive for Covid are showing improvement in their health, however lingering lethargy does appear to be a concern for some of our recovering residents. The Family Liaison team have contacted all relatives of those who are affected by Covid to provide them with a health update.
Tomorrow the full Covid team will meet to identify the most appropriate reactivation of visiting arrangements as soon as we get the green light from the PHU to de-isolate each suburb except for Waratah. Like you, we remain very hopeful that we can lift some restrictions as soon as possible.
We all thank you for your good will and patience as we continue to navigate our way through the storm. Your messages and treats have been very encouraging indeed.
Stay tuned for tomorrows update.
Yours sincerely,
Viv Allanson
