Greeting Residents, Family and Friends

It is with great excitement that we can declare the Covid outbreak at Maroba closed.

All residents in the building today who are eligible for testing have returned a negative Rapid Antigen Test.

Let us all congratulate and applaud the entire Maroba Team for the great work they have done to minimise the spread of the Virus, to get their Covid vaccinations completed within the first Govt deadline and to keep showing up for the sake of your loved ones and our precious residents. They are our hero’s every day of the week as are our volunteers who keep our visiting regime going.

We will continue twice weekly RAT for eligible residents (Tuesday and Saturday) and our current visiting arrangements as they remain in line with the very latest NSW Health guidelines. Covid continues to be circulating in our region so it is not the time to be complacent.

Thanks to all our families for co- operating with what seems to be a tedious regime but a worthwhile one. We continue to head off Covid positive staff, visitors and contractors before they enter the building so well done everyone.

What last weekend’s Covid alert did shine a light on was that some people are not paying attention to the cool guard system and are clicking on the first name that comes up after your face is photographed, and then clicking on any name of the person they are visiting not the actual person. It is critical to everyone’s safety that you accurately complete the check in system. If you need help, then just ask and stand aside for the next person. If we had not been able to find who the actual person with Covid was, our next step was to isolate everyone, which would have set us all back another week of no visitors at all. Please do your bit and help us avoid such very resource intense investigations, one that ended up being a person with Covid who had not been in the building for weeks, but his name was checked in by another visitor.

So we all look forward to seeing you over the coming week.

Stay safe and keep taking the precautions that you are so familiar with as they do work!

Yours sincerely,

Viv Allanson
CEO
