Good morning family and friends,
Further to our update yesterday we now advise that another resident in Bluegum suburb has tested positive this morning. This brings the total of residents experiencing Covid to 4. All residents are stable at the moment. All residents in Jacaranda and Bluegum have had a PCR this morning.
Bluegum is now in full isolation along with Jacaranda and Nobby’s with the staff in full PPE. Staff continue to monitor the slightest change in residents’ conditions and are making the decision not delay testing consenting residents. We will continue with the testing regime and monitor the outcome of the results.
Our Family Liaison Team continue to reach out to the key family contact for each resident experiencing Covid which is proving to be a valuable support for each family.
We thank you for your patience and support of all the measures we have in place as we continue to liaise closely with the Population Health Unit, Hunter New England Local Health District, NSW Health, the Commonwealth Govt and the Quality and Safety Commission.
We will continue with NO general visitation for the whole facility. Family members who would normally provide care for their loved one or those supporting a palliating resident continue to enter the building to continue their caring and support roles. These families have been contacted.
We thank you for your support and appreciate everyone’s co-operation. We understand it is difficult not being able to visit your loved one.
